On April 23rd we gathered in person to celebrate the 2023 The Human Race event! In total we had 7 walkers and 4 competitive runners on the 3 mile course! The weather was absolutely perfect for this outdoor event!
In addition to our walkers and runners, CSDHH hosted a resource table at the event. We enjoyed meeting the other nonprofit organizations and learning about their different programs and services.
Our goal for The Human Race was to raise money for the Evans-Melton Communication Access Fund which provides interpreting, captioning, and SSP services for local events not covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) 1990. Our goal was to raise $500.00. Thanks to our generous team and community members, we raised $613.00 for this fund! We would like to thank the following folks for their support of communication access for all:
Cat Bartfield
Gabby & Frankie Blankenship
John Sherwood
Kayla Currie
Mary-Beth J. Brown Interpreting
Patsy Wiggins
Rebecca McMillion
**Thank you to the 4 anonymous donors for their contributions!
Giving is not just limited to money! We also want to thank several volunteers who dedicated their time to provide transportation, human guidance, and communication access at the event! We appreciate you and your service to our community:
