The Human Race 2022 was a success!
After two years of this event being virtual, we were thrilled to return to an in-person 5K this year, at a new location at LeBauer Park in downtown Greensboro. We had runners and walkers for our team, saw new faces and old, and enjoyed the lovely spring weather.
Each year, this event is an opportunity for local nonprofit organizations to fundraise to support our mission, and we are thrilled each year to be able to raise money to support communication access in our community.
The Evans-Melton Communication Access Fund supports communication access services at events that wouldn’t otherwise be accessible. Past events include community organizing demonstrations, weddings, funerals and memorial services, the NC Folk Festival, among others.
Despite a shorter fundraising campaign this year, our community and supporters showed that they truly feel that access is key, and we surpassed our fundraising goal and more than doubled the net amount raised in 2021. Our total amount raised was $513.23. We would like to thank the following donors for their support of communication access:
Dana Gourley
Donna Urquhart
Erik Oehler
Katie Sprayberry
Lynne Allen
TJ and Ann Jones
Mary-Beth J. Brown Interpreting
Paige Sprinkle
Rebecca McMillion
Rosie Carratello
Tanya Mastromonica
* And thank you to our 4 anonymous donors!
While this year’s event is over, you can always support communication access. We accept donations year round on our website, and we would love for you to stay up to date with CSDHH via our Facebook page, Instagram page, or monthly newsletter, as we move toward returning to in-person community events.
