2018 The Human Race

Thank you for a record breaking year! Together we raised $2,250.00 to fund community access services for individuals who are Deaf, Deaf Blind, Hard of Hearing, and Late Deafened at local, public events. We had over 33 walkers and runners represent team CSDHH on April 14th. Thank you to everyone who volunteered with our team to provide guidance, communication access, take photos, and be the cheerleaders at the finish line! We could not make this fundraising goal possible without the love and dedication from our community!

Deaf Awareness Day with the Greensboro Grasshoppers

We had an AMAZING time at the game! We had almost 150 people in our section, all of whom came out to show their support for and increase awareness of the local Deaf community! It was the last home game of the season, and was truly a blast!

We started by having NC DSDHH Director Jan Withers throw the first pitch of the game...

Singing the National Anthem was Caldwell Academy, and we had our own group of students there as well!

Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students from Johnson Street Global Studies and Kiser Middle School were there signing the National Anthem in beautiful ASL!

During the game, there were lots of various activities and games featuring many people from our group!

All in all it was a great night! We hope next year is even bigger and better, and hope to see returning faces as well as new friends!
