Do you love theater? Then you don’t want to miss this upcoming play, incorporating ASL interpretation! There will be shows Nov 10-12 and Nov 17-19.
Studio One, a community theater organization in Burlington, is hosting an upcoming play with shadow interpreting. Typically, ASL interpreters stay in one fixed location on stage, but this is different: each actor has their own interpreter moving with them on stage, so the interpretation is fully included in the show.
Their upcoming production is Anne of Green Gables. Here is a summary: Stern Marilla and her warm-hearted brother Matthew hoped to adopt a boy to work on their farm. But the orphanage sends young, befreckled Anne by mistake, and their lives will never be the same. Her warmth and wit affect everyone around her – even, eventually, the cold Marilla. This beautiful production follows Anne through her rebellious years, her transformation into a young woman, and her developing romance with classmate Gilbert.
It is a cool story - and even cooler to incorporate shadow interpreting! Visit their website to see the schedule and buy your tickets: https://studio1online.org/main-stage/anne-of-green-gables/
