Human Race 2017

You are the Key to our enduring programs! Together we had over 20 athletes, walkers and runners, community SSP's, agency partners, and volunteers raise over $400 for Teamwork. Alliance. Guidance. (TAG) Mentoring Program. Thank you to each and every person who helped to make this day a success, we cannot wait to see you again next year!

El Deafo Friends & Families

What a magical night of laughing, drawing and embracing what makes each and every one of us a superhero! We had a packed house of over 40 people who came out to Scuppernong Books in downtown Greensboro to meet and share with author of El Deafo Cece Bell. CSDHH wants to express a deep appreciate to the team at Scuppernong Books for hosting the night and to Cece Bell for her inspiring and charming story telling!

Deaf Awareness Day with the Greensboro Grasshoppers

We had an AMAZING time at the game! We had almost 150 people in our section, all of whom came out to show their support for and increase awareness of the local Deaf community! It was the last home game of the season, and was truly a blast!

We started by having NC DSDHH Director Jan Withers throw the first pitch of the game...

Singing the National Anthem was Caldwell Academy, and we had our own group of students there as well!

Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students from Johnson Street Global Studies and Kiser Middle School were there signing the National Anthem in beautiful ASL!

During the game, there were lots of various activities and games featuring many people from our group!

This video is of Brad Hardin helping toss out some Grasshoppers T-Shirts at the Deaf Awareness Day with the Greensboro Grasshoppers!

One of our group helps bring in the second base at the Deaf Awareness Day with the Greensboro Grasshoppers!

One of our group played a bug trivia game at the Deaf Awareness Day with the Greensboro Grasshoppers!

This video is of Frank Griffin correctly guessing the number of attendees in the Lucky for Life quiz at the Deaf Awareness Day with the Greensboro Grasshoppers!

All in all it was a great night! We hope next year is even bigger and better, and hope to see returning faces as well as new friends!

Winkshop - Making the English Tangible in ASL

This workshop was a huge success! We sold out weeks before the date, and the room was completely filled with interpreters, educators, and advocates looking to learn about ASL Depiction and how to tell less and show more! Wink was a masterful presenter, and we loved learning more about ASL Linguistic features and how to incorporate them into our signing.

We have some pictures below that show how engaging the workshop was, and please let us know if you'd like to see more workshops like this in the future!
