WE ARE EXCITED THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN LEARNING AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE WITH US!
Charlotte Classes are on hold.
While we are thrilled to see so many students in the Charlotte area interested in sign language classes, our ability to offer classes in the Charlotte area is on hold.
Update 6/25/2020: We are currently offering Online Sign Language Classes, so they would be available to anyone (including folks in the Charlotte area!). Please click here to learn more.
Here are some other potential resources you may want to explore:
Central Piedmont Community College
CPCC does offer sign language classes.
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College
RCCC does offer sign language classes.
Lifeprint
Lifeprint.com is a great resource for those looking to study independently.
While it’s fantastic, we do recommend that students make sure to get involved with the Deaf Community; as with any language, you can only learn so much on your own - the best learning is to use the language!
Deaf NC Events
This website aggregates events in the community all across the state, and would be a great way to learn of events where you can get involved and practice your skills.
Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
DSDHH is a state agency under the Department of Health and Human Services which helps support and advocate for the Deaf community. While they may not offer ASL classes directly, they likely would know of any local resources. Also, be sure to ask about getting on their email newsletter to learn of events in the Charlotte area!
Hopefully those serve as good resources to you!
If you ever have any questions or if there’s any way we can be of assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out: info@csdhh.org, 336-275-8878 (voice), or 336-542-3981 (VP).
Thank you!
